A chiller evaporator is responsible for absorbing building heat from the building’s water system, after that water has been used at the air handling unit (AHU). As the water flows through the evaporator, the refrigerant inside absorbs the building heat, causing the refrigerant to evaporate and turn into vapor. This process cools the water, which is then circulated back through the building to provide cooling at the air handling unit.
