Steam condensate is the water formed when steam cools down and turns back into liquid. After steam is used to heat air, water, or equipment, it loses its heat energy and condenses back into water—this leftover water is called condensate.
In systems that use steam boilers, this condensate is collected and often sent to a deaerator tank, where it’s mixed with treated makeup water and reused in the boiler. Reusing steam condensate helps save energy, conserve water, and keep the system running efficiently and safely.
