Yes, many pneumatic tube systems use RFID tracking chips to monitor carrier movement in real-time. Staff can see this real-time movement in the system control center (SCC) software often installed with pneumatic tube systems. By tracking the RFID chips, the system can reduce the risk of lost items and provide accurate delivery times. Note: this does not mean that all systems currently use RFID tracking, though it is becoming more common.
