What does a chiller condenser do?

A chiller condenser is responsible for releasing the building heat absorbed by the refrigerant. After the refrigerant is compressed into a high-pressure vapor, it enters the condenser. In water-cooled chillers, this heat is transferred to the condenser water, which is then sent to a cooling tower. The cooling tower rejects the building heat and cools the condenser water back down. In air-cooled chillers, fans blow air over the refrigerant to release the heat directly into the atmosphere. Once the refrigerant releases the heat, it condenses back into a liquid.
